The Exocoetus : PNG Frontier Surfaris Charter

Exocoetus Skipper

Name: Andrew Rigby

Nickname: "Undies"

Age: 28

Qualifications: Skipper & Tradesman

Background:

Andrew is from a family of five generations of fishermen from Port Philip Bay and Bass Strait in Victoria. A qualified skipper and engineering tradesperson he has spent many years on the water aboard trawlers, long liners, charter vessels and living on his own yacht for two years sailing up and down the East Coast of Oz.

Andrew spent grommet hood growing up surfing at 13th beach on Victoria’s South-coast. He’s a mad keen surfer and finding these epic waves in PNG has given him the buzz for surf exploration and charters.

Years in PNG:

Andrew first set foot on terra firma in PNG in February 2005. After a delightful motor on the “Exocoetus” across the Coral Sea hanging out with Cyclone Ingrid! He worked the boat as a lobster-trading vessel for under a year, all the while discovering and surfing a goldmine of wave potential. Thankfully the trading didn’t prove to be a fruitful exercise, so Andrew decided to pursue a more sustainable water activity with surfing charters. An awesome opportunity for a husband and wife duo…and a lifelong dream for Andrew.
